Barren County Schools open enrollment event successful
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Schools very recently held an open enrollment event, and district staff are thrilled with the results.
Tuesday, open enrollment events went on at all Barren County Schools from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. District staff say this year’s open enrollment brought in a record number of students.
Families attended the event in-person, preparing for a school year that is as of now, going to look how it did pre-Covid. While masks will not be required, the use of masks is encouraged for those who are not vaccinated, especially those ages 12 and under.
District director of pupil personnel Anthony Frazier says this year is already starting out with high energy.
“I think the excitement of the kids, especially our preschool and kindergarten students who haven’t actually been in our school systems or one of our schools, we just love the excitement on their faces when they get to come in and tour the schools and see what they’re going to be introduced to, and the great things that will happen in the barren county school district,” Frazier said.
The first day of school for Barren County students will be Aug. 11.
