Barren County Schools implementing quarantine protocol to help slow virus spread
GLASGOW, Ky.- A local school district is asking for the help of parents and families to slow the spread of this virus.
The Barren County School District is urging families of students to follow certain steps in certain situations. If a student tests positive for COVID-19, parents are asked to contact the student’s school principal. This also goes for any student who may have been exposed to someone with the virus.
For students who test positive, they will need to quarantine for 2 weeks, especially if they are around people who are high risk, like the elderly. Students only need to quarantine for 10 days if there are no symptoms.
The quarantine period is 7 days if the student has a negative test on or after day 5 and has no symptoms.
A daily chart of active cases in the district is available on the barren county school’s website.
That chart can be found by following this link.
