Barren County School District to offer childcare
GLASGOW Ky. — The Barren County School District has made the decision to move to virtual instruction on Fridays for all Barren County students as of October 12. For this reason, multiple Barren County elementary schools will be opened as childcare facilities on the days when there aren’t in-person classes.
While there, students will be given time to complete any schoolwork they might have. They will also engage in enrichment activities while following CDC guidelines. Breakfast and lunch will also be served during the day.
The portal to register for childcare will be available on the district’s website between Monday or Tuesday of next week.
The daily rate is $20 per day, but the state will sometimes pay for that in full, or the district will use CARES Act money to provide scholarships for those who don’t qualify.
