Barren County offers a community baby shower

BARREN COUNTY, Ky.-  If you’re an expectant mother, or if you have a newborn in the Barren County area, there’s a community baby shower you won’t want to miss.

The community baby safety shower will provide parents with essential supplies and resources. Vendors from around the community, WIC representatives and representatives from T.J. Regional Health will help guide new parents and let them know they are not alone.

Stephanie Decker, a family resource coordinator in Barren County, says, “We will have vendors set up there that are within the community. We will have representatives there. We will have people from the hospital there who can help inform new moms about breastfeeding. Whenever they leave, they’ll the will to leave knowing that they have weapons, maybe in their back pocket that they can use if they are in a time of need.”

The event will be on April 30 at 4 p.m. at 100 Cheatham St. in Glasgow. For details of the requirements, can be found on our website.
