BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Barren County Schools have spent the week preparing their kids for the future, and Barren County Judge-Executive Micheal Hale has gone beyond the call to action.
Hale appeared at Trojan Academy for his seventh guest presentation this week as part of Barren County Middle Schools’ Work Ethic Certification program. He taught the kids how to properly shake hands, tie neck ties, and most importantly be on time.
On Friday, Barren County Trojan Academy 8th graders learned about the wide array of well-paying careers available right in Glasgow. in fields like business development, cyber tech, engineering, transportation, healthcare and electricity.
Hale says that as a region Barren County has a lot of open jobs and it means a lot for him to speak to the future workforce nd educate them on all their options.
Hale said, “I talk about life-ready things and what the workforce now is looking for in an employee. I just be real with them and stress the importance of having a plan – the A plan and then the B plan in case the A plan doesn’t work.”
Hale will conclude the Work Ethic Program with his visit Park City next Monday.
