Barren County man charged with 3 counts of attempted murder
GLASGOW, Ky. – A Barren County man is charged with three counts of attempted murder after deputies said he fired shots into a car driven by his wife and carrying two other people.
At about 2:24 p.m., the Barren County Sheriff’s Office was called to 6039 Dripping Springs Road after a man said his wife stole his vehicle and attempted to run over him, according to a release from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
While deputies were on their way to the home, Glasgow Police Department officers notified the sheriff’s office that their officers had the vehicle pulled over on Sandy Lane, and the vehicle had multiple gun shots throughout it.
After arriving at the residence on Dripping Springs Road, deputies made spoke to Stephen J. Tang, Jr., 33, who said he stepped into the road to try to get his wife to stop the vehicle. She drove the vehicle into the yard to go around Tang.
The vehicle then traveled back onto the roadway at which time Tang is accused of firing a handgun at the rear of the vehicle striking it multiple times. Along with Tang’s wife, two other men occupied the vehicle, and one man sustained minor injuries from broken glass from the back windshield.
Tang was taken into custody on scene and charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of attempted murder-domestic violence and tampering with physical evidence.
