Barren County man accused of raping child family member
GLASGOW, Ky.- A 65-year-old man from Barren County is behind bars after being accused of raping a pre-school age child who is a member of the man’s family.
According to a news release from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest on Tuesday followed a complaint that Billy Ray Goode had sexually assaulted the family member who is under the age of 12.
During a forensic interview at the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center, the child disclosed the sexual assault allegations against Goode, according to his arrest citation.
Goode has been charged with first-degree rape (victim under 12), first-degree sodomy (victim under 12), incest (victim under 12), and first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12).
Goode is being held on a $50,000 bond inside the Barren County Detention Center.
During an interview with sheriff’s deputies, Goode denied the allegations, according to his arrest citations.
