GLASGOW, Ky. – Barren County Schools has announced that Barren County High School students Kathrynn Dooley and Mary Claire Warren have been selected to attend the Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., this summer.

According to the district, the FRECC Youth Tour is a highly competitive program that offers outstanding high school students the opportunity to experience the nation’s capital, engage with congressional leaders, and gain valuable insight into the democratic process.

During the trip, participants will visit historic landmarks, tour government institutions and connect with peers from across the country who share a passion for leadership and civic engagement.

“We are incredibly proud of Kathrynn and Mary Claire for earning this incredible opportunity,” said Jessica Dyer, principal of the BCHS Early College Magnet Program. “Their selection reflects their dedication to academic excellence, leadership, and community service.”

The FRECC Washington Youth Tour has a long-standing tradition of inspiring young leaders by providing firsthand experiences in government and public service. Barren County Schools congratulates both students on this achievement.
