BARREN COUNTY, Ky. — A Barren County High School student has been named a semifinalist in a high competitive national scholarship program.

According to the district, Barren County High School senior Olivia Jolly has been named a semifinalist for the Coca-Cola Scholar Program. The program is the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship program in the United States.

This year marks another milestone for the program, officials say. With the addition of the 2026 class, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will have support over 7,200 scholars nationwide, awarding over $90 million in scholarships since its founding in 1986.

Jolly is now advancing in the program’s selection process. Semifinalists are currently submitting Phase 2 applications, the school district says, which include essays, a transcript and a recommendation.

The applications will be evaluated by an independent selection committee, which will select 250 Regional Finalists in early January 2026.

Finalists will participate in online interviews for the chance to be named Coca-Cola Scholars.

Beyond financial support, Coca-Cola Scholars become part of an active, lifelong global alumni network dedicated to leadership, collaboration and community impact.

Scholars benefit from professional development programs, mentorship opportunities, and a Leadership Summit every five years.

Barren County High School principal Letitia Hughes celebrated Olivia’s accomplishment, stating: “We are incredibly proud of Olivia and the dedication, character, and leadership she demonstrates each day. Being named a semifinalist for the Coca-Cola Scholars Program is an extraordinary honor. We know she will continue to represent our school and community well throughout this process.”

The Barren County Schools community congratulates Olivia on this outstanding achievement and wishes her continued success as she advances in the selection process.
