Barren County Fair returns for summer season

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – It’s that season when county fairs are popping up everywhere in south-central Kentucky.

The Barren County Fair is back, bringing a week full of fun and festivities to the region. This annual event highlights the importance of agriculture and the role it plays in Barren County’s identity.

County judge-executive Jamie Bewley Byrd shared her love for the fair and its focus on agricultural heritage.

“I just love the embracing of the agricultural heritage here in Barren County,” she said, also praising the local food provided by the Temple Lions Club.

Proceeds from the food sales go directly back to the fair and the Lions Club. Tonight’s events include a catfish competition and a rodeo, promising excitement for all ages.

On Thursday, Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell will attend, and News 40 will be there to cover all the action.
