Barren County equine rehabilitation facility offering therapy certification classes
GLASGOW, Ky.- A local horse rehabilitation facility is offering therapy certification classes this week.
Caliente Therapy, an equine rehab facility in Baren County, is partnering with Superior Therapy to offer certification classes this week to learn about equine care.
The class offers a chance to receive hands-on experience with rehab tools and learn without any required prerequisites or a college degree.
“Whether it be, you know, doing the nutrition or doing the rehab program or teaching them how to better care for the horse,” said Caliente Therapy owner Jordan Riffle when asked about how much of an impact this class can have on the community.
Those who sign up will receive experience with therapeutic tools for the horses. Some are as small as a device that can fit in your hand and as large as an underwater treadmill.
Summer Terry, an instructor with Superior Therapy, went over the different therapy forms they will use over the course of the week.
Terry says, “So we teach cold laser. We teach PDMF, the underwater treadmill. I also have a bodywork course that we just finished up. The first three days of our training are bodywork. Now we’re into equipment education.”
Classes will continue throughout the week at Caliente Therapy with another course in November. For more information, you can visit their Facebook page at Caliente Therapy LLC.
