Barren County declares State of Emergency
GLASGOW, Ky.- Barren County became the fourth county in the WNKY viewing area to declare a State of Emergency.
The declaration was made Tuesday afternoon. Barren joined Warren, Edmonson and Metcalfe Counties in declaring a State of Emergency,
As of Tuesday afternoon, there are still no confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in any of those counties, but this declaration will allow judge-executives to take any steps necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of those communities.
The sooner a county declares a state of emergency, the sooner that county could be eligible to access emergency funding.
