Barren County celebrates City of Glasgow’s 225th birthday
GLASGOW, Ky. – The City of Glasgow is celebrating a major milestone as it turns 225 years old.
The celebration took over the Glasgow Square, with bouncy houses, food trucks, live music and more.
For one city council member, he says this celebration has been in the works for a while and it’s special to see the community gathered together for such a massive occasion.
“A lot of planning goes behind this… all the people… in the administration, the city workers all those people, they did a great job to come out and set up for this so thank you very much,” James “Happy” Neal says.
The fun also included a historical look at the city from renowned historian Sam Terry, along with some birthday cake, of course, from local bakeries in the area.
