Automotive audio manufacturer announces closure of Franklin facility

FRANKLIN, Ky.- An automotive audio equipment company in Franklin is closing its doors.

Employees at HARMAN have been notified that the company will be closing on Sept. 30, 2019.

Approximately 165 employees will be affected, according to a statement from the company’s communications director Carol Campbell.

The statement goes on to read that the company has encountered intense competition and is adapting to the changing dynamic in the automotive industry.

The company will provide severance packages and job search assistance to all eligible employees.

HARMAN has about 2,000 employees in the United States.
