Authorities investigating haz-mat incident in TJ Samson Community Hospital parking lot

GLASGOW, Ky.- Authorities are investigating a haz-mat spill that occurred Friday in the parking lot of  TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

According to Glasgow police, the spill came from a package located in a Penske truck that is leased by FedEx.

A total of four people were treated at the hospital for difficulty breathing. They have since been released.

As of 2:08 p.m. Friday, emergency responders were still on the scene and waiting for FedEx personnel to arrive.

“We didn’t find anything when we entered the truck that was extremely obvious. We’re just kind of in a holding pattern until the response team gets here,” Assistant fire chief of the Glasgow Fire Department Brian Shirley said.

That response team from Nashville is now conducting an investigation offsite, as they look at each box that was on the truck.
