Microplastics in the environment could make bacteria more resistant to antibiotics. A study by Boston University tested how E. Coli reacted to microplastics. After the bacteria grew on the plastics, antibiotics didn’t work as well in fighting it. This is a danger, especially for poor or displaced communities, where there are often large amounts of discarded plastic.

HHS stops free at-home Covid-19 tests by mail

The federal government is no longer accepting orders for free at-home Covid-19 tests. That’s according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The agency did not immediately respond to a question asking why ordering has been paused. It is also unclear if the program has been shut down permanently.
