AT&T launches new cell sites to enhance public safety in Kentucky

KENTUCKY – AT&T is expanding cell sites to help increase public safety throughout the Commonwealth.

According to a release by AT&T, the company worked with the First Responder Network Authority to bring 1,000 new cell sites for public safety’s Band 14 spectrum.

The company says this will further grow connectivity on FirstNet®, built with AT&T, the nation’s “only network built with and for America’s first responders.”

The release states these new sites will be in Barren, Boone, Calloway, Daviess, Fleming, Franklin, Garrard, Hancock, Hardin, Hickman, Laurel, Lawrence, Logan, Montgomery, Powell and Trigg counties.

AT&T says new sites further support first responders’ missions in 46 states and the District of Columbia. The majority impact coverage for places like fire stations, police departments, courthouses and hospitals, according to the release.

According to AT&T, this development will bring the ability to transmit six times the signal strength of other carriers with FirstNet MegaRange™ solutions.
