LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) – Multiple people are injured following an explosion at a Kentucky dairy plant.

According to WKYT, an emergency management director says a “cleaning chemical barrel exploded.”

The incident took place at a Borden Dairy plant in London.

WKYT reports four people have been transported to the hospital Wednesday to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken leg.

Police say the chemical in the barrel was Hyperflex, an acid sanitizer, which has phosphoric acid and nitric acid.

The building itself was not damaged in the explosion.

This is a developing story. We will have additional details as they are released.
