Crews restore power for thousands in viewing area

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following severe weather this past weekend, crews have been hard at work restoring power for thousands of customers in the viewing area.

According to an update from Farmers RECC, every member of theirs that can be restored has received power.

This follows a report that approximately 5,000 Farmers RECC members were without power, and 30 broken poles resulted following recent weather.

After over two days, officials say crews are heading home.

In addition, BGMU’s outage map currently shows zero outages, while WRECC’s map shows only one predicted outage.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WRECC reports Saturday morning that 7,900 members are without power, down from a total of 25,000 at the height of the storms.

The majority of the remaining outages are in Warren County.

Farmers RECC states it has about 3,400 members without power, down from 5,000.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At least 12,000 customers are without power in the viewing area due to severe weather Friday night.

According to WRECC, around 12,000 members within its service territory are impacted.

This doesn’t include Bowling Green Municipal Utilities customers, which currently have reported at least 3,000 total outages as of 10:49 p.m. Friday.

In addition, Pennyrile Electric says as of just before 11 p.m., it has outages affecting 14,482 members.

Crews are responding to work to restore power at this time.
