BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green is preparing to welcome thousands of extra visitors for a major motorsports gathering this weekend.

Holley LS Fest is taking place, and transportation officials say Saturday is expected to be the busiest day.

With the increase in traffic, officials are warning drivers to expect delays. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 says this especially applies to areas near U.S. 31-W Bypass and Louisville Road, which they predict will be the busiest.

The Bowling Green Police Department is reminding the community that this could also mean increased crowds, especially near Beech Bend Raceway.

Police are asking drivers to use extra patience on the road, to stay alert and be aware of pedestrians and to be kind.
