Artistic minds collaborate to fight hunger

A group of Kentucky architects and engineers are artistically finding a way to fight hunger.

Some of Lexington’s top designers are trading in their blueprints to design sculptures made entirely out of canned goods.

The artwork is part of a charity competition called "Canstruction." Each group comes up with a clever structure to be entered into the contest.

And the ideas are endless, with teams creating basketballs, construction equipment, and even a Rubik’s Cube.

In the end, the canned goods are donated to God’s Pantry in Lexington.

Last year was Canstruction’s first competition, raising 23,000 pounds of food.

And this year is no different with the project expecting to collect at least 15,000 cans alone.
