Around 6,400 jobs available in South Central Kentucky region

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Opportunities are plentiful in South Central Kentucky when it comes to job and career seekers.

After a recent open jobs report, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has reported that there are over 6,400 job and career opportunities in the 10-county region.

According to chamber president and chief executive officer Ron Bunch, these jobs are from an assortment of different fields including healthcare, manufacturing and business professional services.

According to Bunch, there are around 8,000 people in the workforce not seeking work, which is why the unemployment rate feels tighter to employers specifically. Bunch also said Bowling Green is a great place to work not only because of available opportunities, but also the lifestyle.

“Certainly, the diversity of employment, and the number of jobs is a key part. How those jobs are compensated really helps to contribute to people’s quality of life here. There’s a little bit of something for everyone in Bowling Green and Warren County, Bunch said.

Bunch mentioned the South Central Workforce Development Board as a great resource not only for those seeking jobs, but also for employers seeking new employees.
