Arizona man charged with terroristic threatening in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ky. – An Arizona man is accused of threatening to shoot employees at a Franklin business.

According to a uniform citation, the Franklin Police Department responded Sunday to The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Franklin regarding a male threatening to shoot staff.

Police say 41-year-old Steven Swagner of Glendale, Arizona was detained due to his “aggressive state.”

Authorities say Swagner began to resist arrest and smelled of alcoholic beverages.

Swagner was arrested and transported to the Simpson County Detention Center.

Police say while being transported to the jail, Swagner made multiple threats to cause serious physical injury to law enforcement. He continued making threats to law enforcement while at the jail, according to authorities.

Swagner faces four counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, one count of resisting arrest and alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense.
