Area near Barren River Lake Dam to close temporarily for maintenance

ALLEN and BARREN COUNTIES, Ky. – Starting Monday afternoon, officials say the stilling basin area on the downstream side of Barren River Lake Dam will temporarily close for maintenance.

According to a social media post by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, during the closure, the public will not be able to access parts of the parking lot, sidewalk or fishing platforms on the wingwalls.

Officials say the work is expected to take around two weeks to complete.

In addition, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is asking the public to respect all posted signs, barricdes and closure areas for safety reasons.
