Annual Stand for Children Day hosted at Bowling Green Ballpark

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Ball Park hosted parents, guardians, families and camps at the annual Stand for Children Day.
Beginning in 1997, Stand for Children Day celebrates kids, service and community in Warren County. The 27th annual event highlights resources of the community. The mission is to help kids grow to be the leaders of tomorrow.
Assistant director with Community Education, Joshua Smith, says it is “humbling” to “continually have that support over the years” and to “see it grow at the same time.” Smith adds that it is special to “put it on” and to “offer it to the community.”
More than 55 local businesses set up engaging activities for the little ones, while teaching and providing information to families and caregivers. Kids and adults learned about health care, dental hygiene, nutrition and much more.
Jennifer Wilson, community engagement with WellCare of Kentucky, says it is easy to “get overwhelmed as parents.” It brings her joy knowing adults are coming to a “safe and fun event.” She hopes this event “brings more awareness to the resources and support that are in our community.”
