Annual Kwanzaa celebration scheduled for Wednesday in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- For some, the day after Christmas means a day closer to the new year, but for others the Dec. 26 kicks off seven days of celebrating African American history, heritage and culture with Kwanzaa.
Kwanzaa is a celebration that spans seven days from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1 and is rooted in African culture and symbolism.
From the seven candles sitting inside the Kinara to the gifts and the food shared at the event, everything tells a story.
The 18th annual Bowling Green community Kwanzaa event will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church.
