Annual Hayward Minton Thunderfest Fireworks Show and Music Festival returns

BOWLING GREEN, Ky –  The Kiwanis Club of Bowling Green has announced the return of the annual Hayward Minton Thunderfest Fireworks Show and Music Festival taking place on Saturday, June 28 at Ephram White Park.

For over five decades, crowds have come from all over south-central Kentucky, and for the first time, the event has a new name honoring a Kiwanian with more than 60 years of perfect attendance, Hayward Minton. Minton is a 103-year-old World War II veteran who served as the first Thunderfest chair in 1972.

The event features a full evening of activities for the full family, such as live entertainment and a free kids zone, as well as a variety of food trucks and unique non-food vendors. This year’s music headliner will be Rowdy Shea, a former attendee of South Warren High School and a contestant on NBC’s The Voice

Gates for this event will open at 3 p.m., and admission will be $25 per carload. Please note that no coolers are allowed.
