Angler reels in monster catfish from Kentucky Lake

KENTUCKY LAKE, Tn.- A Tennessee angler was astonished to catch an 88 lbs (approximately 40 kg) catfish while fishing on Kentucky Lake on December 30, 2018.

Paula Cathey Smith can be seen reeling in the enormous fish and weighing it, with the help of a man on the boat, both struggling with its weight.

Smith told Reuters that she returned the fish back to the lake.

“Yes I released him! I am a firm believer of catch and release,” said Smith.
