American Legion Park in Glasgow getting a facelift
GLASGOW, Ky.- Since 1975, American Legion Park has been a space for many residents around Glasgow and surrounding areas to come together. After 25 years, the park is getting an update.
The park is already under demolition, and they are about to begin taking bids on construction companies for a new aquatics facility, pickleball courts and so much more that will impact the entire community.
Eddie Furlong, the Glasgow Parks and Recreation director, shares how this impacts the community.
He says, “It’s going to mean everything. Actually, it’s going to bring everybody together. It’s something that we haven’t had in quite some time. Nothing new, at least, so it’s going to bring everybody out and bring other communities to our place to see what’s going on, so it’s time for an upgrade. And I think the upgrade is going to be well worth the wait.”
The goal is for American Legion Park to be open in the summer of 2025, and News 40 will continue to follow this story.
