American Cancer Society Hosts Light the Night event

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Friday night, an event was held at Fountain Square Park that honored cancer survivors. American Cancer Society hosted their Light The Night in Bowling Green’s Fountain Square Park. The organization usually has their relay for life every year, but, it was cancelled due to COVID-19. People were especially emotional tonight to honor cancer survivors and the fallen tonight.

All around there were purple buckets and paper bags to honor those who battled cancer. The Society presented cancer survivors with medals, celebrating their victory.

Prior to the event, News 40 met one of those survivors, Sarah Britt from Bowling Green – a survivor of both lung and breast cancer. She said it makes her feel good to know that other people have been through what she has been through and that they survived to.
