Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated hosts canned food drive

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- For four decades, organizations across south-central Kentucky have been pouring into their communities, and one group of women has remained dedicated to this cause.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Omicron Sigma Omega Chapter has been serving the community for 40 years, and they continue their tradition of giving back.

To celebrate this milestone and support people of all ages who may be impacted by severe weather, the sorority is focusing on filling up food banks in south-central Kentucky.

Cassandra Little, the chapter’s historian, shared that many individuals in the community have faced hardships due to crises like severe weather, job loss, or unforeseen life changes. The chapter feels responsible for doing everything they can to help those affected by these challenges.

The food drive is an opportunity for the community to come together and provide much-needed support. You can contribute to this service project by dropping off items at State Street Baptist Church on March 22.

This initiative reflects the sorority’s commitment to service and their desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
