Allen County Sheriff’s Office mourns loss of K-9 Narco

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Allen County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday the death of the agency’s K-9, Narco.
Narco was nine years old and had been battling cancer for three years. The K-9 retired from police service in December of 2017, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.
“We are sad to announce that our retired K-9 Narco died this morning after battling cancer for three years,” the post read. “Narco retired in December 2017 and enjoyed his retirement as a family pet with his handler Sgt. Nick Tabbert. Thanks to the Scottsville Animal Hospital for taking great care of Narco during his battle with cancer.”
Tabbert declined to talk about the loss of his partner. Allen County Sheriff Jeff Cooke did not immediately return a call to his office.
