Allen County Schools prepare meal pick-up and delivery in response to virtual learning

SCOTTSVILLE Ky.- As schools make the transition to all virtual learning, school districts like the Allen County schools want to remind families about meal pickups and deliveries.

Starting Monday, meals will be provided from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the evening. Starting Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., seven days worth of breakfast and lunch will be available for pickup. These pickups will be at all Allen County schools.

Any student ages 1 to 18 are eligible to pick up meals. Starting next week, meal deliveries will be on Wednesday. These meals will be delivered to the homes of all students in the community.

Superintendent of the Allen County Schools Travis Hamby said he’s thankful for his staff coming together in this tough and fluid situation.

For the home deliveries, the district emphasizes that students should keep at least 10 feet away from the busses, and to leave a box or basket out front if possible.
