Allen County Schools deliver over 4,100 meals to children

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — Many children rely on the food they eat at school and take home through backpack programs to combat food insecurity. When schools are out during the summer, they often rely on the various meal programs for sustenance. In this time of quarantine, those same children could face hunger each and every day. People from all divisions of the school system: food service, transportation, maintenance, support, and administrators are working hard to make sure that doesn’t happen. On Tuesday, these volunteers delivered over 4,100 meals to children in their community.
