Allen County police host ‘Cram the Cruiser’ toy drive for local kids
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Christmas came early in Scottsville on Monday as Allen County law enforcement and community partners teamed up for this year’s Cram the Cruiser toy drive.
Scottsville Police, the Family Resource and Youth Services Center and the Fraternal Order of Police set up outside the downtown Dollar General to collect new and gently used toys for local children. Organizers say the effort will help provide gifts for more than 390 kids in Allen County ahead of Christmas.
The goal, they say, is simple: support families in need and spread a little extra holiday cheer.
Lisa Marr, secretary for the Fraternal Order of Police in Scottsville, said the community’s generosity is what makes the event special.
“Our community is awesome about helping,” Marr said. “When it comes to giving, people here always stand together. It’s just awesome to know we can brighten a child’s Christmas.”
Anyone still wanting to donate can drop off toys at the Scottsville Police Department.
