SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man has been charged after authorities say they conducted a traffic stop on a tractor.

According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at around 8 p.m. Thursday to a residence regarding an adult male who had taken his father’s tractor without permission.

Deputies say 40-year-old Anthony Minix of Scottsville was located operating the tractor on Old Hartsville Road with no lights.

Authorities say they conducted a traffic stop at this time.

Deputies say they gave multiple commands to step off of the tractor, but Minix refused.

Minix was physically removed from the tractor. Through investigation, deputies say he was found to be “manifestly under the influence of alcohol” with open alcoholic beverage containers in a bag by his leg.

Minix was arrested and transported to the Allen County Detention Center.

He is charged with reckless driving, failure to illuminate headlamps, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container, violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, third offense.
