ALERRT program comes to Bowling Green, active shooter training
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office along with the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce organized an active shooter training today for local businesses and non-profits who wanted to attend.
Officer Nick Palomo along with his daughter Kylie came from the Houston area to talk to community members about the potentiality of and what to do in an active shooter event. It’s an unfortunate thing, but they have become a trend in America over the years. Palomo said he’s made it a mission to keep his family prepared as well, he said he and his wife “don’t raise their daughter in a glass box”, and he’d “be a hypocrite to not invest in his own family” if he’s teaching active shooter survival to others. Palomo said his daughter has helped out in different capacities when they’ve encountered medical emergencies while he was off duty and she enjoys coming to these classes with him.
News 40 spoke to two women who work at SKYCTC after the training session, who said that was one of the best and most comfortable active shooter trainings they’ve attended.
