Aleppo tahini sesame paste recalled for salmonella risk

(CNN) – Turkana is recalling more than 800 cases of tahini paste over potential salmonella contamination.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Aleppo Tahini Paste was distributed in 20 states, including Kentucky.
The 16-ounce plastic jars of the product include a gold lid and label with an expiration date of August 2026.
The New Jersey-based company says the recall is the result of routine sampling by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
There are no reported illnesses linked to the product.
Consumers are encouraged to return the product for a full refund.
