WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – One man is awaiting transport to Warren County after allegedly soliciting a minor online.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, a tip resulted in a six-week investigation that led a WCSO detective to Alabama.

Authorities say the detective obtained an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Jeffrey Roberts of Argo Alabama. According to the agency, several online profiles were discovered during the investigation.

The sheriff’s office says Roberts later confessed to using multiple profiles to solicit a minor for nude photos.

The Warren County detective reportedly worked with the Argo Police Department to conduct a sting operation, ultimately leading to Roberts’ arrest.

He was transported to the St. Clair County Jail in Alabama and is awaiting extradition to Warren County, authorities say.

Roberts is charged with promoting use of a minor by electronic means.

Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower stated, “The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is committed to pursuing justice for victims and will go as far as needed to hold child predators accountable.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
