Alabama man allegedly points gun at people, flees police

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – An Alabama man allegedly pointed a gun at individuals driving a stolen car.

The Scottsville Police Department said it responded to a complaint of a man pulling up to individuals and pointing a gun at them on Wednesday evening at Food Lion on Gallatin Road.

SPD and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office began searching for the vehicle.

Officers located a silver Toyota Camry matching the description of the car on Old Gallatin Road and attempted a traffic stop.

Police say the car fled the traffic stop, and a pursuit began.

The pursuit ended on Bluegrass Drive, where officers detained the driver, Cordarrius D. Grays, 28, of Huntsville, Alabama.

During the investigation, a handgun was found in the car. The car was determined to be stolen.

Grays was arrested and was lodged at the Allen County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.

Grays is charged with fleeing or evading police first-degree – motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking – automobile, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, theft by unlawful taking – firearm, wanton endangerment first degree, wanton endangerment first degree – police officer, terroristic threatening third degree, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance, operating on a suspended driver’s license, disregarding a traffic control device, and reckless driving.
