After allegedly yelling at motorists, Adairville man faces potential federal charges

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. – An Adairville man is facing a slew of charges.
Adairville Police Chief Aaron Ashby says the department responded to complaints of a man yelling at motorists near the Adairville Library on Thursday just before evening.
Ashby located the suspect, Bobby Charles Scott, 35, behind a hardware store across from the library.
Scott allegedly displayed signs of intoxication. Ashby says Scott was carrying an open container of alcohol.
Ashby arrested Scott and charged him with public intoxication, disorderly conduct (second degree), and failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change. He was lodged at the Logan County Detention Center.
Ashby says a 12-gauge shotgun shell found in Scott’s pocket.
On Friday, Ashby says he reviewed a recorded jail phone call between Scott and his girlfriend.
Ashby says Scott asked his girlfriend to return to a wooded area where he was arrested the previous day.
The area was searched by officers and a backpack containing a loaded, sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, additional shell casings, beer cans, and personal items allegedly belonging to Scott near the location of his arrest.
Scott is a convicted felon.
A sawed-off shotgun is a federally prohibited weapon.
Ashby says he contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). He says further federal charges are pending.
