Adaptive and sensory swimming to be offered at Russell Sims

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A new program is starting this summer with Bowling Green Parks & Rec, offering adaptive and sensory swim time.

On select Tuesdays, time will be offered to those who have disabilities to have a less stimulating time at the pool. Russell Sims Aquatic Center will open early from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. to facilitate a smaller population and less noise. It’s a new program but not a new mission for the department.

Cameron Levis, BGPR’s recreation division manager, said this is just a continuation of their dedication to making sure there are no barriers to fun in the community.

Opening day is May 25, and for all updates, you can check out the city of Bowling Green’s website or their Facebook page. Dates for Adaptive and Sensory swim will be June 11, June 25, July 9 and July 23.
