Once homeless dog looks for a new family
BOWLING GREEN Ky.- Last week authorities discovered the body of a man underneath an interstate overpass in Bowling Green. He had all of his belongings with him, including his four-legged companion. But the dog ran off.
The curious dog is named Jolene, and she belonged to the man who died, later identified as 59-year-old Charles Douglas Morton.
Some good Samaritans found Jolene near Greenwood Mall. She was brought to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society where she is now waiting for her new fur-ever home.
Adoption center manager Leah Lawrence said she’s thankful to the community of Bowling Green, and their willingness to help Jolene get back on her feet.
“We see time and time again that they step up anytime they’re needed. We encouraged people to keep their distance from Jolene because we didn’t know her temperament in the beginning, but everyone was so eager to try to save her that they didn’t really care about that. They just wanted to get her somewhere safe,” Lawrence said.
