A little wind and rain, a lot of bourbon and beer

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. It was a windy and sometimes rainy day but the temperamental weather didn’t stop crowds from coming out to Bowling Green Ballpark to enjoy Bowling Green Bourbon & Brewfest.

Accoring  to festival organizers, nearly 3,000 ticketholders and volunteers came out to taste bourbon and beer from local and regional distilleries and breweries. There were also food vendors throughout the park to make sure there weren’t any empty stomachs.

Eventgoers could also pick up crafts regional artisans.

Stephanie Turner, the event coordinator for Bowling Green Bourbon & Brewfest said in the five years the festival has been held, this year’s turnout appeared to be the largest yet. She told WNKY News the event does more than showcase breweries and other businesses. Local nonprofit organizations benefit as well. This year’s organization was the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society. Bourbon and Brewfest also donated money for every volunteer hour served to the charity of the volunteer’s choice.

This year was also the first year a “rain plan” was ever activated, which meant nearly all the vendors were moved indoors.
