A backstage look of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ performance at the SKyPAC
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- News 40 is taking a deep dive into a behind-the-scenes look you won’t want to miss—and the best part is, you don’t have to.
The Ramsey Theatre Company is bringing a bold new version of “The Wizard of Oz” to life in south-central Kentucky. Performances run Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with a newly added Sunday matinee at 3 p.m., making it perfect for all ages.
Producing artistic director Diane DiCroce says it’s a show that brings the entire community together.
Actor Madison Alexander, who plays Dorothy, promises a mind-blowing experience for audiences young and old. The show blends detailed costume designs with cutting-edge technology to merge the classic 1939 film with a modern theatrical twist.
“It’s something that’s never been done before in Bowling Green,” says Alexander, highlighting scenes where actors actually take flight.
This reimagined journey down the Yellow Brick Road features nationally recognized talent alongside beloved local performers.
DiCroce adds, “Anything can happen at any time, and you’re experiencing it all together.”
At its core, the show is about discovering your own strength—and realizing, as always, there’s no place like home.
