Warren County sheriff Brett Hightower speaks on Ring camera concerns
WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- Concerns are rising as Ring camera users take to social media, reporting suspicious activity on a system designed to keep homes safe.
Recent hacking incidents have been reported in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and even a little closer to home.
Sheriff Brett Hightower of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to take precautions with their devices.
“With anything, people have to be aware, you need to make sure that your password protection is not just very simple,” he said.
He advises users to avoid default settings and create their own unique passwords. Hightower also encourages everyone to check their Ring accounts for unauthorized access.
As these incidents grow, residents are being reminded that digital safety is just as important as physical security.
