Barren Volunteer Rescue team purchases new emergency boat

GLASGOW, Ky.- The Barren County Volunteer Rescue team is now equipped with a new tool.

Through grant money received from the Department of Homeland Security, the rescue team recently purchased a new boat, specifically designed for rescue missions.

The boat is equipped with a platform for divers, a Hummingbird sonar, which will help responders find items underwater, and multiple lights.

Eight people can fit on the boat.

This is the very first new boat the team has ever purchased. All previous vessels were used and donated.
