Alleged Golden State Killer arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court

The man accused of being the infamous Golden State Killer, was arraigned yesterday on 13 new rape related charges, and 13 murder charges.

The charges against 72 year old Joseph Deangelo were amended Tuesday, to include many additional special circumstances, as well as 13 counts of kidnapping for robbery. The crimes happened in Sacramento, Contra Costa, Orange, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Ventura counties in California, between 1975 and 1986. Deangelo was arraigned in a Sacramento Superior Court yesterday, and has yet to enter a plea. District attorneys from five of the six counties where the crimes took place, were in the courtroom but did not speak. 

The golden state killer is accused of terrorizing the state of California in the seventies and eighties, and committing at least 13 murders, over 50 rapes, and over 100 burglaries.

Deangelo’s next court date is set for December 6th, vacating a September court appearance.
