Police officer to teach classes and serve as resource officer at Bowling Green High School

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Bowling Green Police Department has announced plans to add an officer to Bowling Green High School and he won’t just be patrolling the hallways.

According to a news release from Bowling Green police, Officer Patrick Donoghue will begin his new position in Aug.

Donoughue will not only play the role of school resource officer, but will instruct classes designed to engage and challenge students interested in pursuing a career in public service.

The course, which is in conjunction with the school’s Medical Arts Academy, will offer law enforcement concepts and procedures through hands-on training.

According to Bowling Green Independent Schools Superintendent, Gary Fields, Donoghue is the first officer to serve at Bowling Green High School.
