William H. Natcher Parkway now officially Interstate 165

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The William H. Natcher Parkway is no more. The highway has a new name. It’s Interstate 165.

A project to officially change the designation of the Parkway to an interstate spur began today.

Crews are installing new interstate shield signs along 72 miles of the Parkway that now read as Interstate 165.

The name change was first discussed in 2016.

The signage changes are expected to begin in the northbound direction at the I-65 interchange in Bowling Green.

Crews will head north along the route changing signs, exit numbers and mile markers from Bowling Green to Owensboro.

Once the northbound direction is complete, crews will switch to the southbound side making the sign changes from Owensboro to Bowling Green.

The entire process should take two weeks.
